How to Burnish a Leather Edge:

1. Prepare the Edge: Trim the edge with a sharp knife and sand it smooth using fine-grit sandpaper.
2. Moisten the Edge: Lightly dampen the edge with water using a sponge or cloth. Do not soak it—just enough to raise the fibers.
3. Apply Gum or Wax (Optional): For a smoother finish, apply 
   Gum Tragacanth, Tokonole, or beeswax.
4. Burnish the Edge: Use a wooden or plastic burnishing tool. Rub it quickly back and forth along the edge with firm pressure. Friction will generate heat and smooth the fibers.
5. Repeat if Needed: Reapply moisture or gum and continue burnishing until the edge is smooth, shiny, and sealed.
