The Special Grade version offers the same robust build and waxy feel as higher grades, with more visible character—expect range marks, cosmetic blemishes, or color variation. It's ideal for prototypes, utility pieces, or projects where a little extra texture and personality are welcome.

Wickett & Craig Leather Grades:

Wickett & Craig leather is available in several grades to suit different leatherworking needs and budgets. 

• Standard Grade offers the cleanest overall appearance, with minimal natural marks and imperfections, making it an excellent choice for premium leather goods where appearance is important. 
• Utility Grade may contain more natural characteristics such as scars, wrinkles, brands, or other cosmetic imperfections, but still provides the same quality vegetable-tanned leather and is a great value for projects where maximum usable yield is less critical. 
• Special Grade typically features more noticeable natural markings or surface imperfections and is ideal for smaller projects, practice work, prototypes, or leatherworkers looking for quality Wickett & Craig leather at a more economical price. Because leather is a natural material, markings and usable area will vary from hide to hide.

Available Weights:

• 2-3 oz (0.8–1.2 mm).
• 4-5 oz (1.6–2.0 mm).
• 6-7 oz (2.4–2.8 mm).
• 7-8 oz (2.8–3.2 mm).
