Essex is a full grain leather tanned with Horween’s time-tested Shell Cordovan veg tanning liquors. The hides are then nourished with a blend of grease, fats & oils to give the leather a soft, yet durable, well rounded feel. Typically made in earth tone and natural veg tan colors. Just like many of Horween’s leathers, it works great for just about any leather working project from bags to shoes to wallets

2nd Run – hides may have defects like brands, color variation, healed scars, holes, loose break, tannery cuts, etc.

Tanned using traditional vegetable tanning methods which can take up to 40 days to produce a hide. Dyed through in color.
